Managing critical equipment maintenance at Eaton Automotive originally started with sketches on a whiteboard, paper requests, and complex lookups in Excel. The project's goal was to fully digitize maintenance processes and deploy an agile CMMS system integrated directly with the SAP enterprise system.

The deployment of the Productoo P4 CMMS (Maintenance Shopfloor View) system brought technicians full mobility in the field via tablets and mobile phones. Technicians on the shop floor simply scan a QR code on the machine and instantly see repair history, technical drawings, and preventive care schedules. The system automatically plans preventive maintenance based on technicians' workload and qualifications, while immediately transferring breakdown reports submitted by operators from MES terminals to the maintenance dispatch desk in real time.
